Re: [gpma] Nobody told me . . .

I believe this kit has it's roots in a late 70's
Monogram die cast bodied kit. Aoshima has released
this kit a few times in the last few years but it's
nice to have it back again and at a great price. I
built one a few years ago for my club 24 Hours of Le
Mans build. The main issue I had with it was making
the bonnet fit.
I think this one is a hidden gem, buy a couple.

I just picked one up on Thursday...just arrived at my hobby shop.  Got it home, opened it and saw a lot of work required on the body seams.I am going to build it into:

Re: [gpma] Porsche 962C fuel filler ???

Dale,

Yes, I've already started. The rear is cut short at
the seam line under the wing. Still lots of work to
do. The rear wing element will come from the Tamiya
Toyota 88CV and front wheels from the Tamiya Mercedes
C9. Doors will be corrected with Perry's Resin parts
and rear BBS wheels from Perry's too..

Trevor

Trevor,
Not terribly unlike this conversion to a Brun 962.

Re: [gpma] Porsche 962C fuel filler ???

Are you going to modify the rear of the model?

Dale,

I assumed that the paired fillers would be on either
one side or the other but was looking for
confirmation. I believe it only ran in this livery
once, Jarama '92. The rest of the time it ran in the
usual Joest colours of white and light blue with
Blaupunkt/Sachs sponsorship. The decals are from a
generic Repsol sheet by AMS in Germany on a Tamiya
base.

Tania, somewhere I have a picture of those Gerry Anderson characters I'll dig  em! out and post them on forum for you. If you see em, it might press your rewind button, the one in your noggin.
