â– 2008 Dodge Viper

Inspired by the classic AC Cobra of the 1960s, the Dodge Viper is one of the most iconic American cars produced in the last two decades.

The Viper has long been known for producing a staggering amount of powerthe first versions from the early 1990s used a version of Dodges V10 truck engine modified by Lamborghiniand the latest incarnation continues this trend by boosting output up to a staggering 600hp.

Original versions of the Viper were available only as stripped down roadsters, and while more creature comforts have been added over the years, including a fully enclosed coupe version, the Viper is still a fairly Spartan vehicle by modern standards.

The latest iteration boasts dramatically improved traction, cornering, and stability, along with a refreshed, more aggressive appearance. Our Viper is dressed in the stunning new Snakeskin Green paint scheme, and is presented with the traditional convertible body style.

Dodge Avenger

2011 Dodge Avenger Strikes Back!

Dodge hasn't had much success in the midsize sedan arena something it has enjoyed with its full-size Dodge Charger. That shouldn't be much of a surprise to anyone given Dodge's reluctance to stay with the same model name from generation to generation.
In the 1980s, the Dodge 600 was succeeded by the Spirit and in the 1990s, the Stratus was the midsize offering until it was replaced by the Avenger in 2008. That Avenger got lost in a sea of competitive models, but for 2011 it appears that Dodge has found the right kind of model for consumer consideration.
And, unlike in times past, the Avenger name will be retained. That's probably good because the outgoing Avenger, although not particularly competitive, had enough going for it to keep Dodge fans happy. With the 2011 model Dodge will finally have a midsize offering to crow about.
True Performance
The biggest changes for this front-wheel-drive Avenger will be found underneath its hood. The base 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine returns, but it gives up its dated four-speed automatic for a modern six-speed transmission. That will help the Avenger squeeze more mpg out of a car that was getting 30 mpg on the highway in 2010.
The Avenger's optional engines -- a 2.7-liter V-6 and 3.5-liter V-6 are now gone, replaced by the automaker's 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6. That engine has already found its way under the hood of the Jeep Grand Cherokee and will, according to Chrysler, power 13 separate models over the coming years.
Potent V-6
The Pentastar V-6 is rated at 283 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. Significantly, while other midsize models no longer offer a V-6 or minimize its availability in favor of four-cylinder models, Dodge is taking the approach that some customers still want performance. And, with 1.6 million buyers choosing mid-size cars annually, the Avenger will target those customers wanting more.
Other changes for the 2011 Dodge Avenger include the cosmetic. This sedan gains a new grill, hood and headlamps and offers new rear deck treatment. Inside, the Avenger gains a new dash, fresh gauges, nicer materials and sound deadening materials. Soft touch armrests, new heating and cooling outlet units, a three-spoke steering wheel and ambient lighting upgrades are also evident.
The Dodge Avenger is now better suited to compete on the technology front, offering Bluetooth connectivity, hands-free voice command for cell phones and a larger hard drive capable of downloading 6,700 songs. Today's car shoppers are demanding tech access and the Avenger delivers.
The Avenger also gains new paint color schemes, improved cloth seating, interior color updates and other touches. Place the Avenger next to the Charger and you'll behold a pair of vehicles much more alike than they are different, a logical relationship Dodge hopes will keep you in the Dodge fold for a very long time.

Dodge Durango 2011

The 2012 Mustang Boss 302 was unveiled this morning at Mazda Raceway Mustang Laguna Seca, and we were at the track bright and early to see it take a lap around the famous race course. Due to some early morning rain, the lap actually never happened (we weren't told and were up at the corkscrew for about an hour waiting in the rain), but we managed to make it down to the pits to catch our first glimpse at the car.

We'll spare you going over the details again - you can see the official press release, photos and video from our post this morning – but what we can bring you are the first live photos of the Mustang Boss 302, including a few of the "Laguna Seca" edition.

2010 Dodge Viper SRT10 "Final Edition"
The current Dodge Viper that we've all come to know and love is heading to that faraway automotive graveyard in the sky. Fret not – we have it on good authority that all supercars go to heaven. To commemorate the occasion, Chrysler has announced that it will build a limited edition 2010 Viper SRT10 "Final Edition" models with a production run of 50 Viper SRT10 Final Edition models.
The Final Edition Viper Sport Car models will be available in Coupe, Roadster and ACR (American Club Racer) model configurations and each will feature a Graphite Clear Coat body with a painted black center stripe traced in red. Viper Coupe and ACR Final Edition models include a black windshield surround. All Final Edition models carry unique side sill badges.
Inside, each car will get side sill badges along with red accent stitching on the black surfaces, plus red painted halo surrounds on the gauge cluster and bright stainless steel screws in center stack bezel. A numbered plaque will be featured on the shifter bezel and the updates will be finished off with Viper Final Edition floor mats.

All Viper Final Edition Coupe and Roadster models will wear six-spoke wheels painted in Anthracite, while ACR models will come with five-spoke Sidewinder wheels in black.
Mechanically, there are no changes to the Final Edition Viper. The beasty sports car retains its standard 8.4-liter V-10 engine, producing 600 horsepower and 560 pound-feet of torque. That means all Final Edition models will rocket from 0 to 60 mph in less than 4 seconds, while being able to hit a top speed of 202 mph. Production of the Viper Final Edition will begin this summer, with just 20 coupes, 18 roadsters, and 12 ACRs being produced. Despite not having pricing information available yet, if you want one, you better get your order in quick.
